Book Review: God's Justice Bible by Tim Stafford

Justice (n). the process or result of using laws to fairly judge and punish crimes and criminals

"Are you becoming increasingly concerned about matters of justice in the world today?
God's Justice Bible, NIV edition, written by Tim Stafford and over fifty contributors will challenge you to think about the biblical insights of today's world.

This text challenges the reader to:
1. Begin to learn the story
2. Commit to following Jesus
3. Love a life of justice
4. Find others who are acting out the story of God's justice

The bible is organized into 7 volumes: beginnings, history, poetry and song, prophets, life of Jesus, letters, and apocalypse. The beginning of each book contains an introduction and highlights chapetes that specifically focus on justice topics. There are footnotes throughout that give commentary about each account. There are also reflection questions and a prayer at the end of each book.

Sample Questions on Hebrews
1. Can you articulate the story of what God was doing in the thousands of years leading up to Jesus? How did he first set out to make the world right?
2. What contemporary descriptions of Jesus have you heard? What do modern people think of him? Contrast this with the message Hebrews is trying to communicate.

The book itself has an attractive hard cover with decorative tree branches in the edges of each page.

Overall, this is a great selection for a reader wanting more knowledge and biblical insight in today's world on issues like: trafficking, child injustice, women's rights, refugees and genocide.
